The last post.

April 27, 2009 - Leave a Response

This will be my last post in this blog.  I’m going to be moving everything from the site back to my Etsy shop. As much as I love having my own site, I do so much better on Etsy! The site will still be up until next month when my hosting expires, then http://lemonade-accessories.com will take you to my Etsy shop.

Thank you for all of your support! xo

Oh man.

As in, “Oh man, am I behind with my blogging!”

There won’t be any new items added to the shop today…hopefully a few tomorrow or later on in the week. I have some new bags in the works! I’m going to start introducing things to Lemonade Accessories that are similar to the things that I’ll be carrying in Olive and Jude so that everyone can get a feel for the new shop.

Three new eyeglass cases were added last week…perfectly Spring!

Catch-up

April 3, 2009 - Leave a Response

This week was crazy! I started working 5 days a week in the coffee shop because my boss is about to pop. (No really. I think if someone were to poke her belly, she’d pop.) 4:00 mornings left me drained! On Thursday morning I realized that  I didn’t do my Inspire Me Wednesday. And I had something to share, something good…

I found out about Kindred through decor8. It’s a collection of free, gorgeous wallpaper backgrounds. It’s pure eye candy! I’m currently using this one as my background. I love it!

More catch-up…

Later this year, I’ll be closing Lemonade Accessories. I’m still going to be sewing, I’ll just be under a new name, making new things. You can bookmark or heart my new Etsy shop here. More on when the change will happen later. Right now, I’m looking at anywhere between June-August. If you want something in Lemonade, grab it! Olive and Jude will have different items and I’ll be focusing on vintage and eco-friendly fabrics.

Have a great weekend!

I can’t use the volcano as an excuse for everything…

March 29, 2009 - Leave a Response

but this time, I’m going to.

We’ve been getting volcanic ash from Mt. Redoubt. Doesn’t that sound crazy? A volcano! But I’m being totally serious.

This is actually no excuse for why I have no sneak peek this week. (And why new items may be added later than Monday.) I have a few make-up bags and a custom order to add to the shop. Hopefully I can get a few more things sewn up and photographed for this week, though. My goal is usually 3-5 things and I’m just barely making the 3-item goal.

PS
Use the code “blog” to get 20% off of your order! Good through April 1st!

Inspire Me Wednesday: 3.25.09

imw

I totally forgot it was Wednesday! It’s ok, though. I had something in mind to blog about so it was just a matter of getting it all together!

This week it’s all about Orla Kiely. I first heard of her a few weeks, maybe a month or so, ago over on Decor8. Holly had written about the new Orla Kiely line for Target. I went to Target Monday not even thinking about this line. But I saw it. And I let out a gasp. I immediately grabbed a coffee cup and put it in my basket. Then my rational side kicked in…we have 18 coffee cups already and I’m the only one that uses them. I don’t need another right now. Even if it is the cutest coffee cup I’ve ever seen. If this line had been in Target last year, I would have registered for the wedding at Target instead of Bed Bath and Beyond.

So far out of my price range but still so lovely! The simple shapes, patterns, and colors are right up my alley. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Thank you, Dell!

I finally got myself a new laptop cord! Yay! I ordered it on Wednesday and got it Thursday. How awesome is that? I only asked for regular shipping. Kyle said that he thinks we get things shipped to us super fast (this isn’t the first thing that’s come before we expected) because people see that we’re military so they ship it fast. I say it’s because it takes forever to get stuff up here and we have to pay an arm and a leg so they say, “hey. we’re totally ripping this girl off by charging her $16 for regular shipping to Alaska. I think I’ll bump her up to 2nd day air (or next day) for free.” Either way, thank you Dell. (And Alienware and Victoria’s Secret. Pajamas. Get your head on straight.)

So now that  have access to my own computer, I can finally add some things to the shop that have been hanging around for weeks. Want a sneak peek? I know you do.

These three things, along with another wristlet and a make-up bag, will be added to the shop on Monday. I’m also going to be retaking a LOT of pictures tomorrow. The site is going to look fresh for Spring!

Also, if you’d like to join my new mailing list, just send an email to Megan@LemonadeAccessories.com with the subject line “Mailing List.” Please be sure to tell me which email address you’d like the newsletters sent to! They will go out once a week and include (even more) sneak peeks, looks behind the scenes of Lemonade Accessories, and discounts that only mailing listers will get!

Inspire Me Wednesday: 3.18.09

Told you I’d have one today! This week features just one source of inspiration: Lady GaGa.

Newsy news

March 16, 2009 - Leave a Response

I totally just made that phrase up.

Anyway, some changes coming to the shop. Good changes. Changes that will make things easier for me and (hopefully) easier for you. It’s actually only one change: new items will be added on Mondays. That’s typically my day off at the coffee shop so that leaves my day wide open to add new lovelies for everyone. Another reason I decided on this is the fact that I can make things during the weekend and have them up in the shop (sunlight permitting, photographing the items, you know) on Monday. To preview what will be added, I’m going to blog them (or most of them) on Sunday.

And I know I’ve totally been slacking on the Inspire me Wednesday posts but I don’t have my laptop. I mean, I have it but it’s dead, therefore, I cannot access my cute graphic that I made. Also, I can’t pinpoint what’s been inspiring me lately. I honestly think it’s the fact that I feel our house is too cluttered and if I make things out of my supplies, they will sell and then the house will be less cluttered and we’ll have some extra money. How do I put that into a picture for you? I could take pics of my house but then I would realize that it’s actually not cluttered at all. Anyway. I’ll be back with them this Wedneday for real.

So this week only two things will be added to the shop because I just came up with this idea yesterday. I can sew fast but not that fast.

Elizabeth Make-Up Bag – $10

Jordy Pleated Pouch – $9

I hope you’ll stop by the shop tomorrow!

Excuses, excuses

March 4, 2009 - Leave a Response

There was no Inspire me Wednesday last week because…I really couldn’t pinpoint what was inspiring me. (Bad excuse, right?)

Well, there’s no IMW this week either. For the same reason.

Also, my laptop is dead. Totally KO. The powercord that I just bought 6 months ago no longer works (hey, thanks Olive!)  Kyle and I both messed with it last night to no avail. I have pictures of new things for the shop on there and, obviously, I can’t get to them so I don’t know when I’ll be able to add new things. (Which totally sucks.) I’ve been working from Kyle’s computer the past few days so I can still respond to emails and ship orders.

Just wanted to let you all know what’s going on and that I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth!

Until I can add new things to the shop, you can check out some new things at Lemon Loves Paper and shop the headband sale!

Inspire Me Wednesday: Week Three

February 18, 2009 - One Response

I know I normally share four things that have been inspiring me but this week, there’s just one thing really.

craftinc

I had heard about this book a while ago but didn’t think anything of it. I finally decided that I wanted to see what it was all about so Saturday night after dinner, Kyle humored me and we went to Barnes & Noble. I started reading it like I would a regular book but kept running into things that don’t really apply to me (example: outsourcing your work.) As a result, I decided to use it like a reference book. It’s wonderful!

She makes it all sound so simple but not in the way that you’re like,” Dangit. SHE made it sound so easy!” More like, “I can totally do that!” Also, the book itself is seriously cute. I mean, look at the front cover. The inside is just as cute.

If you’re a crafter looking to turn your hobby into a business, I suggest picking up this book.
