This week was crazy! I started working 5 days a week in the coffee shop because my boss is about to pop. (No really. I think if someone were to poke her belly, she’d pop.) 4:00 mornings left me drained! On Thursday morning I realized that  I didn’t do my Inspire Me Wednesday. And I had something to share, something good…

I found out about Kindred through decor8. It’s a collection of free, gorgeous wallpaper backgrounds. It’s pure eye candy! I’m currently using this one as my background. I love it!

More catch-up…

Later this year, I’ll be closing Lemonade Accessories. I’m still going to be sewing, I’ll just be under a new name, making new things. You can bookmark or heart my new Etsy shop here. More on when the change will happen later. Right now, I’m looking at anywhere between June-August. If you want something in Lemonade, grab it! Olive and Jude will have different items and I’ll be focusing on vintage and eco-friendly fabrics.

Have a great weekend!

Thursday Win
December 12, 2008

Bum ba dum bum!

The winner is #4: Lo! Yay! I’ll email you for your address!

My all-time favorite part of the holiday season is Christmas eve. My entire family (aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, EVERYONE!)  gets together for food and the White Elephant game. As a kid, we had it at my memaw’s house. She lived half an hour away down a dirt road. I loved leaving her house that night knowing that Santa was coming and that maybe he had already come. One night, my cousin and I swore up and down we saw him fly over the full moon.  As our family got bigger, her house became too small so it moved to my parents’ house. I loved having everyone there with lots of good food. I’m very sad I won’t be home for Christmas this year.

Another favorite part of the holidays for me is a fairly new part. Every year Kyle’s mom and aunts get together and bake cookies all day one day. Hundreds and hundreds of cookies. I love going to whichever house it’s being held at and rolling out dough or icing cookies with his aunts and cousins. Again, I’m sad I won’t be there this year.

Anyway, enough sad. Lo has some ornaments coming her way!

Ever Changing
September 15, 2008

Things with me are ever changing. My ideas, plans, goals…no wait, I don’t set goals.

Anyway, you get it.

So right now I’m in the process of doing 3 things:

  1. Finishing this wedding.
  2. Preparing for the move.
  3. Making my website my bread and butter.

See how those are in order? Yes? Ok. Now flip that list upside down and that’s where my priorities are. Yup, I’m a strange breed of girl who puts her “job” (I like doing it too much for it to be a real job) over planning a wedding. Darn you Jennifer Lopez for making wedding planning look so cool and glamorous. It’s so not like that.

So anyway, I’m not going to be listing anymore new things in my shop and I’ll likely take out the few fall things that I have listed. Those will go over to the new website and I’ll just be renewing what’s in the shop until I sell all the inventory. Hopefully when we get settled in Alaska, I can do a big grand opening for my site with advertising and everything. SO EXCITING!

Also, look for another giveaway this week. I don’t have anything to do tomorrow so I’ll probably do it then. Seriously, I don’t have anything to do tomorrow. Wedding in 5 days and nothing to do? Believe it.

Around the state in 48 hours
September 8, 2008

Six hours isn’t really a long drive. Unless you’re by yourself in which case, it’s a lifetime!

I left on Saturday morning (after a lovely wedding shower at church) to visit Kyle. We ate at a fantastic Mexican restaurant Sat. night. It was really authentic and so delicious. Why don’t we have places like that around here? I like tex-mex but authentic Mexican food is to die for.

Sunday was fantastic, we went to this really neat outdoor mall. Lunch at Five Guys, new phones (the new LG Dare, which kicks so much butt) from Verizon, and Marble Slab ice cream (birthday cake with cookie dough mixed in.) Kyle said, “Why’d you get this ice cream? It tastes like I’m eating frozen icing. I think I am eating frozen icing.” Of course, that was after he’d eaten half of the bowl.

So now I’m home ready to get back to the shop…oh and planning the wedding. It’s in 12 days! He’ll be home for good in 20 days and I can’t wait.

I took my film camera and shot some B&W and I started a roll of color. I’m getting the B&W developed tomorrow and I’ll show and tell!

Video Killed the Radio Star
August 27, 2008

Let’s see how long I can go naming blog posts after ’80s songs that somewhat apply to the post. Let’s see how long I can go before I start making sense again.

I made this video yesterday but everything still applies except for the “have a wonderful Tuesday” part. So pretend I say “have a wonderful Wednesday.” And Kyle is in Tyndall now, not Louisiana. The big white thing on the table is my sewing machine, I have to keep the cover over it to keep the cats from playing on it and eating thread. The mess in the background is stuff from my wedding shower that I need to pack. Guess what I’m doing this weekend?
