The last post.
April 27, 2009

This will be my last post in this blog.  I’m going to be moving everything from the site back to my Etsy shop. As much as I love having my own site, I do so much better on Etsy! The site will still be up until next month when my hosting expires, then will take you to my Etsy shop.

Thank you for all of your support! xo

Show and Tell
November 29, 2008

I missed Freshman Friday yesterday so I thought I’d take a minute today to show off some of the things I’ve purchased lately. We’re fortunate enough to have a little extra money so I went on a little shopping spree!

I wanted some Christmas decorations so I picked up these…

This snowflake dish from Pink Kiss Ceramics serves as a candle holder on our dining room table.

I had been looking for some trees like this but could only find ones made in China. I didn’t think I’d find any on Etsy that I could afford but I did! These are from Tella. Although, I have to warn you, kitties like to play with them. I had them on the end table and woke up one morning to find the red one upstairs in our bedroom. The next day, I found the green one in the living room floor. I decided to put them in the windowsill over the kitchen sink. That night I found the grey one in the sink. They are currently on the back ledge of the stove and I’m waiting (patiently, I might add) for us to get an entertainment center so I can display them properly.

Last in this show & tell session is this print from CharlieMotel

She’s closing her Etsy shop and I’m sad. This print is one of my favorite things I have ever bought on Etsy! It’s so cute and absolutley perfect. Check out her shop (and all these shops) for Christmas gifts…or a treat for yourself.

Freshman Friday: Mireloom
November 21, 2008

Before I get to this week’s Freshman Friday, I have to apologize for the lack of giveaway Thursday this week. Thursday was my only day off this week and I spent the day doing all sorts of glamorous housewife things like laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and decorating for Christmas. It’ll be back next week, I promise!

Anyway, this week’s Freshman Friday is a lovely shop, Mireloom. It’s very cold here (imagine that) and I’m warming up just looking at all of the beautiful scarves and shawls!

Freshman Friday:EvyJacobDesign
November 8, 2008

With the new job (at a coffee shop!) and my housewife duties, I often forget about Freshman Friday. I’m trying hard not to forget it, though! I love showcasing new Etsiers!

This weeks freshman Friday is EvyJacobDesign. The shop is a plethora of colorful, unique, and customizable paper goods! (As always, click a picture to go to the item listing!)

Vintage Blue Folded Notecards – $38

Sparkles Holiday Card – $2.50

Personalized Mod Flower Flat Notes – $38

Check out Purple Pink and Orange to see my first real advertising spot!

Freshman Friday Catchup
October 24, 2008

Since we’ve been moving, I haven’t had the chance to do my Freshman Fridays as usual. I’m gonna play a little catchup today and feature a few new Etsiers! Just click the item photo to go to the listing on Etsy.

First up is serpilerol. I LOVE when I hit a great shop on the very first Pounce! ANYWAY, is this not gorgeous?  So retro and very Carrie Bradshaw.

I’m always in awe of the talent on Etsy but it’s not too often that you see something this original and unique. The necklaces in HooklessDesigns‘ shop are made from either wool or zippers. Yeah, like the kind of zippers I use on my items!

I am very, very glad to have stumbled upon this last shop. Since this is our first Christmas married and we’ll have a white Christmas for the first time in our lives, I’m going to do a picture Christmas card. These designs from swishbliss are so cute and so very “me.” I hearted her and I’ll be back when the holidays are closer!

October 24, 2008

We filled out the paperwork for our house today and we’ll be moving in on the 30th! I have all of my inventory, shipping supplies, etc. up in the little apartment with me so I’m finally able to ship normally. Just in time for the holidays!

Snow Tires Sale!
October 18, 2008

Well, we’ve reached our destination! We’re in temporary housing on Elmendorf and as I keep saying, I’d live right here if they asked me to! We’re quickly learning that life in Alaska is a little different than life in Florida. The biggest thing we’ve learned? Snow tires (studded tires) are very. very. important. They are also very. very. expensive…

That’s why I’m running a Snow Tires Sale in both of my shops!

That’s right! Until Tuesday the 21st, when you buy anything from either shop, you’ll get free shipping as well as a coupon for $5 off your next purchase of $10 or more. Perfect for your holiday shopping!

Click the coupon to go to either shop

I’m still unable to ship and it will probably be another week or two until I’m able to. I do have 24/7 internet access now, though! I can respond to convos, emails, and orders with no delay.

Happy Shopping!

Freshman Friday: Llimping Llama Farm
September 26, 2008

As if I wasn’t hungry before I found this shop! LlimpingLlamaFarm only has a few things in their shop right now but everything looks scrumptious!

These are called “Lydia’s Wicked Good Brownies.” I have a feeling that the word ‘wicked’ isn’t in there for Halloween. Brownies are my absolute favorite sweet treat and these pass my “OMG those look so good, I need one rightthissecond” test.

Garlic knots because, let’s be honest, garlic bread just isn’t enough for me. I’ll eat anything with garlic on it and I’d love to give these a try! Maybe I’ll order some when we’re out of groceries and it’s too cold to go to the commissary.

Rent a Maple Tree.
HOW COOL IS THAT?! You can rent a tree and they make you maple syrup. You get at least one GALLON of handmade maple syrup. Seriously. I once said that I’d like to marry maple syrup, it’s so much better than the artificial stuff!

Freshman Friday: YannPendaries
September 18, 2008

I decided to do Freshman Friday a little early this week since the rehearsal dinner is tomorrow. And the next giveaway has been postponed until we get settled in Alaska.

This week’s Freshman Friday is YannPendaries. He is a professional photographer in Paris…that sounds like a dream! (Each photograph links to the listing on Etsy.)

Some of his work (like this piece) combines photography with drawings from Malam.

Check out his shop, everything is so beautiful! I hope to pick up a few prints for our new home!

Freshman Friday: The Polka Dot Daisy
September 12, 2008

On my other blog (which I have recently revived), I used to do this thing called Freshman Friday. I use Etsy’s Pounce feature to find an awesome new seller. The name ‘Freshman Friday’ comes from high school when one Friday (typically at the beginning of the school year) unsuspecting freshman would get tossed into dumpsters or hogtied in the hallway by upperclassmen. Don’t worry, these freshmand were usually annoying or complete jerks so they deserved it.

ANYWAY, I’ve decided to move Freshman Friday over to this blog. Every Friday I’ll feature a new Etsier that I think rocks. This Friday is The Polka Dot Daisy.

I love the simplicity of these cards and I’m a sucker for anything with fruit on it (images of fruit or actual fruit, I’ll take either.) Check out her shop, you won’t regret it!
